I am a man in my late 40s living in South Korea. First of all, the reason I didn't attach a photo of my face to my profile is because I thought it would be better to exchange it after getting to know the person I'm talking to for a while. I also hope my face isn't the reason you're contacting me^^ I prefer women over 30 years old for a few reasons, but I'm basically open to everyone from all regions. I'm particularly interested in the nature and culture of Japan and Europe. Japan is the closest country to Korea geographically and historically and culturally, but surprisingly the two societies are very different. I speak some English, reading fairly well, but not so much in conversation and writing. I speak Korean very well^^ and I think I know the language and culture a bit better than the average Korean, and I think I could be of help to someone who wants to learn it. However, I'm not really interested in a language-exchange-only relationship. My goal is basically to make foreign friends, so I don't think you should just contact me and ask me to teach you Korean. According to my experience of being pen pals with a few people for about a year, it seems like a relationship cannot last long if we have similar world views, values, and tastes, or if we don't have anything in common. I am very interested in how the Korean entertainment industry, including idols, works, but I am not very interested in or know much about idols, dramas, or movies themselves. Unfortunately, Korea, the country where I was born, is on an irreversible decline. Korea is the country that joined the ranks of developed countries in the shortest period of time, but ironically, that is why it is shrinking. Life is very difficult for Koreans, and they are anxious about the future. The Korea you see through idols and K-dramas may seem modern and cool, but this is just a fancy shell covering a poor and messy interior. The country of BTS, Blackpink, and flashy, cool, and fun K-dramas is also the country with the highest suicide rate in the world, the lowest birth rate, and lowest social trust. Aren't you curious about the cause of this disharmony? anyway, Anyone who likes the superficial appearance of Korea will have little to gain from me, and people who want to know the light and dark sides of Korea might get some help from me. Human relationships start to go awry from the moment they meet, and the hurt begins. But, if we don't meet, nothing happens. So, I will meet you without any great expectations or illusions, and I will do my best to build a mutually beneficial and trusting relationship for a long time.
